<h2>Overview</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Durham County Wildlife Club is located off </span><a href="https://goo.gl/maps/d5g33AJVfdF4f9n7A"><span style="font-weight: 400;">3616 Hopson Road</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in the heart of the Research Triangle Park, within minutes of Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and convenient to the Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill areas of central North Carolina.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The club has ninety six acres of land, which includes an eleven acre lake complete with picnic tables and a large clubhouse along with well-manicured shooting facilities. Forty acres of the property remain wooded, offering a serene respite from the pressures of life in the Triangle.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The club grounds and clubhouse are available for use to community minded civic and sports-person's organizations, and are currently used by groups such as the Boy Scouts of America, The Durham Jaycees, The Triangle Fly-Fishermen and others.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">No hunting or open carry is allowed on any of the club's grounds.</span></p>
<h2>Additional Information</h2>
<p>From its beginning in 1946, the Club has been organized as a private, non-profit organization with its facilities open to members and their guests. The Club is affiliated with the N.C. Wildlife Federation, the N.C. Rifle & Pistol Association , the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA), and the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA).</p>
<h2>Membership</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One membership in the Durham County Wildlife Club covers the entire family - husband, wife, and dependent children. Senior Citizen memberships are also available. Membership is open to anyone, without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. <h2>Club Hours</h2>
<p>The lake and grounds of the club are open to members and their guests throughout the week. For guests, the shooting facilities are typically open on Saturdays from 11:00 to 3:00 PM, and on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Call (919) 544-1306 to find out ahead of time if the club is open or closed on a future weekend. Also, by volunteering to serve on a club committee, members may obtain off-hours shooting privileges. During off-hours, no shooting is allowed after 10:00 PM, nor before 7:00 AM. Note that during holiday weekends, the club is officially closed, but members may bring guests following the off-hours rules.</p>
<h2>Visitors</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Visitors are welcome to the club during open hours described above. They are welcome to bring their shotguns and enjoy our trap and skeet. The pistol range is not open to visitors.</span></p>
<p><b>Note that 7 ½ is the maximum allowed shot size on the shotgun fields.</b></p>
<p><b>Visitors should report to the clubhouse to sign in before shooting.</b></p>
<h2>Shooting Fees</h2>

<p>Free Pistol and Archery for member's children age 17 and under.</p>
<p>Non-committee members shooting shotgun during off-hours may shoot only as a guest and must pay 2 tokens per round.</p>
<h2>Pistol Range</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unlike the other facilities of the Club, the pistol range is not available to visitors. Except for organized competitions, only club members who have completed the club's </span><a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/stateless-dcwc-info/2021/11/d15ad3b3-dcwc-public-pistol-test-1apr19.pdf"><span style="font-weight: 400;">pistol test</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><a href="https://storage.googleapis.com/stateless-dcwc-info/2021/11/4e63df73-dcwc-livefire-procedure-aug16.pdf"><span style="font-weight: 400;">live fire procedure</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> are authorized to shoot on this range, and only those members who have off-hours privileges are allowed to bring guests to this range during open hours only. There is a daily use fee for the pistol range, equal to one shotgun round.</span></p>

<h2>Committee Members</h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the best benefits of the club is the ability to use the club off-hours. But the club is run and maintained by volunteers on committees. To enjoy the off-hours benefit you must volunteer to be a committee member and commit to performing duties 3-4 times per year. And you must complete the appropriate certifications for any activities.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Examples include staffing the shop, running shooting venues during open hours, maintenance activities, etc. You can ask for a given committee, but assignments are made based on openings. More information on committees is available at the initial training class.</span></p>
